Little Apple
By Heidi Graw
Little apple up on the tree
Tell me, tell me, what do you see?
I see Queen Idun walking the green.
Little apple up on the tree.
Tell me, tell me, what more do you see?
I see Loki stalking the Queen.
Little apple up on the tree.
Tell me, tell me, what more do you see?
I see Thiazzi and he looks mean.
Little apple up on the tree.
Tell me, tell me, what more do you see?
I see Thiazzi stealing the Queen
Bumble Bee
By Heidi Graw
Zoom, zoom, zoom.
Bumble bee zoom.
Flower to flower,
Honey for power.
Freyr fell fast asleep,
In the pasture green and deep.
Zoom, zoom, zoom.
Bumble bee zoom.
Pricked Lord Freyr and...
Splat!
No more bumble bee zoom!
Clip, Clop, Clip
[Hel's Three-legged Horse]
By Eric Lindstrom
Clip, clop, clip.
What is her schtick?
Clip, clop, clip.
What makes her tick?
Clip, clop, clip.
In bed the sick.
Clip, clop, clip.
No more this hick.
Clip, clop, clip.
In Hel's realm quick.
Clip, clop, clip.
A soul to kick.
Clip, clop, clip,
Clip, clop, clip.
Bristle Boar
By Heidi Graw
Bristle boar, bristle boar,
Through wild brush he tore.
Freyr went a hunting,
Caught a little bunting.
Bristle boar, bristle boar,
Golden tusks he wore,
Freya's heart was bleeding,
A necklace she was needing.
Bristle boar, bristle boar,
Thundering hoofs aroar.
Thor threw his hammer,
Giants fell, much yammer.
Bristle boar, bristle boar,
Wild red eyes he bore.
Odin sat fair and tall,
Watch the warriors fall.
Oh, bristle boar; oh, bristle boar.
Well deserved the lore.
Heaven breaks asunder,
Bristle boar ran under.
Fire and Ice
By Heidi Graw
Fire and ice,
All things nice.
Flowers grow,
A field to sow.
Amber and gold,
Warrior be bold.
Sword is quick,
Valkyr's pick.
Runes tell tale,
Win or fail.
Magic hold,
Truth foretold.
Hammer and Bellows
By Heidi Graw
Hammer in the right hand.
Bellows on the left.
Bing, bang, bing, bang.
Watch this fire glow.
Hammer in the right hand.
Bellows on the left.
Bing, bang, bing, bang.
Work this metal so.
Hammer in the right hand.
Bellows on the left.
Bing, bang, bing, bang.
See the wagon roll.
Wash Me Down
By Heidi Graw
Wash me down,
Polish my crown,
Carry me over,
A field of clover.
Carriage strong,
Weapons wrong,
Mead horn raised,
Gods be praised.
Hip and Hop
Hip and hop,
Thor did stop.
Ocean was too deep.
Hip and hop,
Thor did stop.
Mountain was too high.
Hip and hop,
Thor did stop.
Giant was too big.
Hip and hop,
Thor did stop.
Castle disappeared.
Hip and hop,
Thor did stop.
"I did my very best.
It's time to take a rest."
Hip and hop,
Hip and hop,
Hip and hop away.
Falcon and Eagle
By Heidi Graw
Falcon and eagle,
Sat high in the tree.
Eagle said to the falcon,
"I can fly higher than thee."
Falcon said to the eagle,
"I can see farther than thee."
Eagle said to the falcon,
"I'm much bigger than thee."
Falcon said to the eagle,
"I'm much prettier than thee."
And with that, falcon perched herself
To sit between the eagle's eyes.
Ratatosk
By Heidi Graw
Rata-ta-tat, rata-tat-tale,
Scampering up, scrambling down,
Watch this silly squirrel go round.
Tickle Nidhogg's belly,
Run up the tree like Nelly,
To tweak the beak,
Of the napping eagle.
Tweak, tweak, tweak.
Heimdall
By Heidi Graw
Who stands guard on the rainbow bridge,
The rainbow bridge, the rainbow bridge?
Who stands guard on the rainbow bridge?
It's Heimdall, little darling.
Why does he have a sword and horn,
A sword and horn, a sword and horn?
Why does he have a sword and horn?
To defend the bridge, my darling.
Why does he have golden teeth,
Golden teeth, golden teeth?
Why does he have golden teeth?
To smile bright, my darling.
Heimdall can hear the grass grow, grow,
The grass grow, grow, the grass grow, grow.
Heimdall can hear the grass grow, grow.
So, hush, my little darling.
Heimdall can see far and wide,
Day and night, far and wide.
Heimdall can see far and wide.
So, behave, my little darling.
Freya, "Oh, Where Can He Be?"
By Heidi Graw
Oh where, oh where can her Odur love be?
Oh where, oh where can he be?
He travelled away to a distant land,
And left his dear wife to weep.
Oh where, oh where can her Odur love be?
Oh where, oh where can he be?
She hitched up her two little kitty cats,
And bade them to fly with speed.
Oh where, oh where can her Odur love be?
Oh where, oh where can he be?
She found him 'neath a flowery big tree,
Where he had fallen asleep.
Oh where, oh where can her Odur love be?
Oh where, oh where can he be?
Sif's Hair
Oh, oh, oh!
Where did Sif's hair go?
No more the golden tresses,
A bald head so distresses.
Oh, oh, oh!
A flood of tears did flow.
Thor was in heated anger,
And threw his mighty hammer.
Oh, oh, oh!
Where did Loki go?
He tossed the many golden locks,
Among the grazing bullocks.
Oh, oh, oh!
Thor chased Loki so,
A strangled throat, a pleading eye,
Loki promised by and by.
Oh, oh, oh!
Watch the elves heave ho.
New golden strands of hair,
For Sif, the lady fair.
Riddle: (author unknown)
Who are the two who ride to the Thing?
Three eyes have they together,
Ten feet, and one tail: and thus,
They travel through the lands.
Answer: Odin and Sleipnir.
Grind, Magic Millstone, Grind [Of Fenia and Menia]
By Heidi Graw
Grind, magic millstone, grind.
King Frodi was so kind.
He bade us turn the wheel for peace,
He bade us turn out happiness,
He bade us turn the wheel for gold,
He bade us turn until we're old.
Grind, magic millstone, grind.
King Frodi turned unkind.
He, in greed, gave us no rest,
He, in greed, denied our best,
He, in greed, became so bold,
He, in greed, turned mighty cold.
Grind, magic millstone, grind.
Turn loose these weights that bind.
We churn no more this tainted gold,
We churn no more his greed to hold,
We churn instead an army host,
We churn instead our justice most.
Grind, magic millstone, grind.
King Frodi
By Heidi Graw
There once was a king named Frodi,
Who turned out to be quite a toady.
He used to be kind,
Until he changed his mind,
And that was the end of King Frodi.
Silver Moon, Golden Sun
By Heidi Graw
Silver moon and golden sun,
Chariots fast and on the run,
Pretty horses gallop in the air,
To draw these orbs so wondrous fair,
Over clouds and beneath the stars,
To the delight of every heart.
